Thomas and Saigo Named HBCU All-Americans

RALEIGH, NC - Forward Shayne Saigo and guard DJ Thomas were both named to the BOXTOROW HBCU D2 All Americans in a recent release by BOXTOROW. This is the 15th annual release by the popular HBCU news outlet. 

Saigo was a consistent force on the season tallying 14.0 points per game along with pulling down 4.9 rebounds. The senior forward from Knightdale poured in a season-high 29 points against Bluefiled State University in December. Saigo turned in seven 20 point performances during the regular season including 17 double figure scoring contests. 

Thomas also helped gear the Shaw offense adding 14.0 points per game including a season-high 24 against Johnson C. Smith in late January. The Raleigh native finished the regular season with 19 double-figure scoring outings while adding 32 steals and 52 rebounds on the year.
