Shaw Trio Named to BoxtoRow All-American Teams

RALEIGH, N.C. — Three members of the Shaw University men's basketball program have earned national recognition as Avery Huggins, Dreveon Scott and Isaiah Buckley were named to the 2026 BOXTOROW HBCU All-America Teams.

Huggins was selected as a First Team BOXTOROW HBCU All-American, while Scott and Buckley earned Second Team honors following standout seasons for the Bears.

Huggins capped off an outstanding senior campaign by emerging as one of the top two-way players in the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association. The Wilson, N.C. native ranked among the conference leaders in multiple statistical categories throughout the season, finishing eighth in the CIAA in scoring and eighth in rebounding while ranking fourth in field goal percentage and second in free throw percentage. Huggins also ranked among the league leaders in assists and blocks, showcasing his versatility and impact on both ends of the floor.

Scott delivered another strong season in the backcourt for Shaw, serving as a key leader and playmaker for the Bears. The Marloro, S.C. native consistently provided scoring punch while contributing across the stat sheet with rebounds, assists and defensive plays throughout the season. Scott's ability to perform in key moments helped guide Shaw through a competitive CIAA schedule.

Buckley also played a major role in Shaw's success this season, providing steady production and leadership in the Bears' rotation. The guard demonstrated his ability to score and attack the basket while drawing contact, regularly getting to the free throw line and contributing valuable minutes in Shaw's backcourt. The sophomore from PG.County , MD was top in the CIAA in assist to turnover ration while also leading the league in minutes played per game.
