BALTIMORE, MD --Avery Huggins, Isaiah Buckley, and Justin Harris combined to score 49 of Shaw's 63 total points, but the Bears fell to the Lincoln (PA) Lions 69-63 at CFG Bank Arena Tuesday.
Huggins led the Bears (16-10) with 18 points, seven rebounds and two blocks. Buckley added 17 points and three steals and Harris helped out with 14 points and two steals.
The Shaw defense caused its share of mistakes in Tuesday's game, forcing 16 Lincoln (PA) turnovers while committing 10. Those takeaways turned into 12 points on the other end of the floor. Buckley's three steals led the way individually for the Bears.
How It Happened
After falling behind 6-2, Shaw went on an 11-0 run with 16:18 left in the first half, culminating in a three from Harris, to take a 13-6 lead. The Bears then lost some of that lead, but still entered halftime with a 36-33 advantage.
Shaw kept its lead intact before going on a 7-0 run, finished off by Huggins' three, to grow the lead to 44-36 with 16:50 to go in the contest. Lincoln (PA) then asserted control, outscoring the Bears 33-19 the rest of the way to hand Shaw the 69-63 loss. Shaw got out on the break in the period, scoring eight fast break points.
