RALEIGH, NC -
Jasmine Culp of Shaw was selected CIAA Volleyball Defensive Player of the Week on Tuesday.
Culp, who plays the libero position, averaged 5.43 digs per set in four matches at the Frostburg State Tournament over the weekend. Her average leads the CIAA after the first full week of action. Culp also ranks fifth in the CIAA in aces per set (0.57).
A freshman from Clayton, NC, Culp tallied 22 digs in a victory over Frostburg State and 23 digs in a loss to Pitt-Johnstown. The Lady Bears finished 2-2 in the tournament against tough non-conference competition.Â
