Box Score

Hartsville, SC – After an offensive onslaught in their last match, it took just one goal for the Shaw University Lady Bears to persevere over the Coker Cobras Wednesday night 1-0 in Hartsville, SC.

With the win, the Lady Bears improve to 5-8 and have won their last two matches. Coker falls to 1-8-2 with the loss and have now dropped their last three matches.

The lone goal of the contest came in the 13th minute as Mya Rolinson made the score 1-0 in favor of the Lady Bears. The perseverance would kick in for the remainder of the match as Shaw would be forced to play the rest of the match with just 10 players as a red card was awarded just 10 minutes after the goal.

Shaw maintained pressure while also keeping the Cobras off the board earning the 1-0 shutout victory. Goalkeeper Maude Rouanet earned the shutout recording four saves on 11 Cobra shots.

The Lady Bears return to action this weekend with a road contest at Belmont Abbey Saturday, October 23. Kickoff is slated for 4 p.m.
