RALEIGH, N.C. –  The Shaw University women's soccer team again found themselves on the wrong end of a one goal decision as they fell to Catawba Saturday afternoon 1-0 in Salisbury, N.C.

The Lady Bears have now dropped three matches by one goal.

Shaw falls to 1-5 on the season while Catawba upped its record to 5-2 overall.

Catawba found success early with quick shots and a smothering defense that held Shaw to just three shots with only one of those being on goal while the Indians were credited with 28 shots with six being on goal. Sophomore Philine Diekhoff (Hamburg, Germany)  would finish with all three shots for the Lady Bears.

The Indians would tally the game winner in the 6' as Sarah Bisset scored from a pass from Amber Hand. Senior Caylie Hartman (Commerence City, CO) played all 90 minutes and was credited for five saves.

Shaw returns home Tuesday, Oct. 1 for a showdown with King (Tenn) at the MAC. Kickoff is slated for 1 p.m.
