RALEIGH, N.C. – The Shaw University men's soccer team begins the 2023 season with two road games this week.

The Bears will visit Emory & Henry in Emory, Va., on Thursday, Aug. 31, at 7:30 p.m. Two days later on Sept. 2, the Bears will take on Francis Marion in Florence, S.C., at 7 p.m.

This is the second time in three seasons that the Bears will travel to Emory & Henry. Shaw pulled out a 3-2 victory in 2021. The Bears last played Francis Marion in 2019 with Shaw losing 4-0 in an away game.

Shaw is looking to improve on last season's 6-7-3 overall record. Their first home match is Tuesday, Sept. 5, versus Carlow (Pa.) at Durham County Memorial Stadium starting at 1 p.m.
