DeDecker Selected CIAA Defensive Player of the Week

RALEIGH, N.C. (March 8) – Shaw outfielder Regina DeDecker was named CIAA Softball Defensive Player of the Week on Wednesday for her stellar play at the NFCA Division II Leadoff Classic in Columbus, Ga., recently.

DeDecker was perfect in center field with 11 putouts, no assists and most importantly – no errors – in five games. She led the Lady Bears in runs (3) and hits (5), including a triple, at the Classic in addition to two RBIs and two stolen bases in two attempts.

For her performance, DeDecker was selected to the Classic All-Tournament team.

Through nine games, DeDecker is the Lady Bears' leader in batting average (.333), hits (8), runs (5), RBIs (4) and slugging percentage (.458). She is 5-for-5 in stolen base attempts.
