RALEIGH, N.C. – The Shaw University men's basketball team will take on Bowie State in the first round of the CIAA Tournament on Tuesday, Feb. 21 at 6:40 p.m. at the CFG Bank Arena in Baltimore, Md.

The Bears (15-13 overall) are seeded seventh and Bowie State (7-21) is seeded 10^th. The Shaw-Bowie State victor will tangle No. 2 seed and defending conference champion Fayetteville State in a men's quarterfinal contest on Wednesday, Feb 22 at 8:50 p.m. FSU, the Southern Division champs, earned an opening-round bye.

The Bears and Bulldogs split the regular season series. Shaw won at home 73-58 on Jan. 25, 2023 and lost 62-59 on the road Feb. 4.
