RALEIGH, N.C. – The Shaw University softball team opens the 2023 season this weekend in the CIAA/SIAC Tournament in Orangeburg S.C. The site is the North Road Complex.

Shaw will take on four SIAC teams in two days. Below is the Lady Bears' tournament schedule.
 
Saturday, Feb. 18
2 p.m. – Kentucky State University
4 p.m. – Clark Atlanta University
 
Sunday, Feb. 19
12 p.m. – Miles College
2 p.m. – Albany State University
 
The Lady Bears are led by third-year Head Coach Mercedes Hargett. Her squad features four returnees from last season – outfielders Nataya Truitt and Regina DeDecker, pitcher-third baseman Syhia Marks and catcher Sas'Kia Stephens.
