Box Score Beckley WV – Two first-half goals proved to be just enough as the Shaw University men's soccer team escaped with a 2-1 road victory over the Concord University Mountain Lions in a Sunday evening physical matchup in Beckley, WV at the Paul Cline Complex.
With the win, Shaw improves to 2-3 on the season snapping a three-game skid while the Mountain Lions remain winless on the season at 0-7.
How It Happened
- Shaw got on the board first with an unassisted goal from Zedy Adlam in the 23rd minute on a high shot.
- Concord converted the equalizer in the 31st minute as Michael Shelor took a pass from Ted Penn and found the back of the top left corner of the net.
- The Bears scored what would be the game-winner less than 10 minutes later just before the break as Yassin Fawzy picked the left corner and put Shaw ahead for good at 2-1 in the 38th minute.
