Box Score Banner Elk, NC – The Shaw University Lady Bears fell on the road 1-0 to the Lees-McRae Bobcats Tuesday evening in Banner Elk, NC.
The Lady Bears now sit at 1-3 overall after dropping their second straight 1-0 decision. With the win, Lees-McRae improves to 3-1.
Shaw played most of the first half with 10 players after a red card was issued. The Lady Bears were in a hole early as the Bobcats found the back of the net in the 11th minute with an unassisted goal from Hannah Davies. The lone first-half goal would be enough to secure the win for Lees-McRae.
The Bobcats outshot the Lady Bears 14-6 and denied Shaw a single corner kick opportunity compared to 11 by Lees-McRae.
The Lady Bears return to action Saturday, September 18 as they travel to Rollins for a 7 p.m. first kick.
