Box Score Wingate, NC – The Shaw University women's soccer team dropped a 1-0 decision Saturday afternoon at Wingate University.
The Lady Bears now sit at 1-2 on the season as Wingate improves to 2-0.
Shaw was held to just three total shots for the entire match compared to Wingate's 21. The Bulldogs were finally able to convert in the 66th minute as Yasmin Cowley took a pass from McKenna Delong and fired it past the Shaw keeper. Maude Rouane was credited nine saves on 10 shots on goal for the Lady Bears.
Shaw returns to the pitch Tuesday, September 14 as they travel to Lees-McRae. Game time is slated for 4:30 p.m.
