SALISBURY, N.C. - The Shaw University men's soccer team fell to Catawba College, 3-2 on Frock Field Friday afternoon in an eventful match. 

The first half featured back and forth play between the sides but ended 0-0 at intermission. However, this set up an exciting second half that saw a total of five goals scored. 

It was freshman forward Gianluca Evers (Brunswick, Germany) who got on the scoresheet first for the Bears in the 59' scoring his second of the season. 

The 1-0 lead did not last long as the Indians brought the game back level in the 64'.

To regain the lead at 2-1 with just a minute later in the 65', junior forward Danny Cameron (Edinburgh, Scotland) scored his first goal of the season off an assist from junior midfielder Marc Alzamor (Brooklyn, NY). 

Catawba was awarded a penalty kick in the 66' but freshman goalkeeper Juan Ramirez (Fort Myers, FL) saved the initial kick, before the rebound found the back of the net tying the game at 2-2.

As the game came to an end, the Indians scored a winner that left Shaw no time to get back into the match. 

The Bears totaled 13 shots, eight on target, and accumulated a season-high six yellow cards in the match. Ramirez totaled nine saves. 

A short turnaround sees the Bears back in action Saturday afternoon on April 10, when SU plays hosts to Columbia International. The game marks Shaw's senior day celebration for the program. Kickoff is scheduled for 2 p.m.
