Raleigh, NC - The Shaw University Bears will take a break from conference play for their next three matchups first traveling to Elon, NC to face Division 1 Elon University in an exhibition matchup Saturday, December 18.

Shaw (4-4) returns to the court after falling to Fayetteville State University 61-44 Wednesday evening in Raleigh. The Bears shot an ice-cold 1-14 from beyond the arc leading to a season-low 31% shooting night. Caleb Simmons paces Shaw on offense averaging 13.4 ppg. Justus Baldwin follows with 9.3 ppg. The Bears are averaging 70.6 ppg while allowing just over 73 ppg.
Elon (3-8) enters to contest fresh off a thrilling 63-61 win over Winthrop Wednesday night where the Phoneix won the contest with a three-point shot at the buzzer. The win snapped a seven-game losing skid for the Phoneix against impressive competition. Elon is led on offense by Torrence Watson at 12.2 ppg. Watson is one of four players who average double figures for the Phoneix at the moment.
This will be the first-ever meeting in basketball between the two schools.
