Sumter, SC -  Four Shaw Bears finished in double-figure scoring as Shaw pulled away in the second half to collect their second straight win as the Bears defeated host Morris College 78-71 Tuesday night in a non-conference matchup.

With the win, the Bears improve to 3-2 overall on the season.

Caleb Simmons posted a double-double finishing with 18 points and 14 rebounds leading the Bears in both areas. Justus Baldwin followed with 17 points while Rayshawn Neal and Nakwan Kitchens followed with 12 and 10 respectively.  Neal and Kitchens also added seven rebounds each. 

The Bears finished the night shooting 43% from the floor while just connecting on 4-17 shots from beyond the arc. Shaw also finished 16-24 from the charity stripe. Shaw limited Morris to just 37% shooting from including just 28% from three-point range.  The Bears outrebounded the Hornets 48-36. 

Shaw will take an extended break with the Thanksgiving holiday approaching as the Bears return to the court Tuesday, November 30 as Shaw will host Paine College. Tipoff is slated for 8 p.m. inside C.C. Spaulding Gymnasium.
