RALEIGH, N.C. – The Shaw University men's soccer team celebrated eight seniors Friday afternoon, but the celebration was short-lived as Shaw fell to Salem (W.V.) in its season finale 2-0 at the Wake Competition Center.

Salem took the lead in the 15th minute with a bullet from Dean Davies into the left corner. The Tigers pushed ahead 2-0 in the 27th minute and coasted the rest of the way to the 2-0 victory putting a slight damper on senior day.

The Bears were outshot 12-7 on the match by the Tigers. In a physical match playing each other for the second time in less than a week 16 total fouls were called with Salem being called for nine.

Shaw ends its 2019 campaign 3-11-2 overall.
