BEARS FALL AT MOUNT OLIVE, 1-0

MOUNT OLIVE, N.C. -  The Shaw University men's soccer team dropped a 1-0 decision to the University of Mount Olive on Monday night at Amon Field.

 

The Trojans (5-3-0) scored the winning goal thanks to a header from Sebastian Loibl at the 84th minute. The Bears (3-5-1) tried to respond at the 87th mark but sophomore Charles Showers (New Carrollton, MD) shot attempt was saved by Preston Snyder that would secure the win for UMO.

 

Junior Thilo Wilke (Karlstadt, Germany) finished with six shots and four shot on goals while Showers had two shots and one on goal. Defensively, freshman Santiago Farre (Barcelona, Spain) collected nine saves in the loss.

 

The Bears will look ahead to another road match at Christendom on Saturday, Oct. 7.
