Mount Olive, NC --- Shaw University traveled to the University of Mount Olive team on Tuesday February 3 to face the Trojans at Nancy C. Cassell Field. The Lady Bears dropped the double header Mount Olive and opened up the 2015 season 0-2.

In the first game the Lady Bears could not find a way to stop the Mount Olive Trojans who totaled 24 runs in four innings. Shai Bease, Chakiryn Jackson, Morgan Jones and Brittany Kline tallied one hit apiece in the game.  The Lady Bears would drop the first match to Mount Olive 24-0.

The Lady Bears started the second game off with a run scored by Renee Holmes with a RBI from Shanice Anderson who singled to center field. A similar play occurred in the top of the third with Renee Holmes scoring a run with a second RBI for Shanice Anderson who doubled to left center. Shaw could not hold off the Mount Olive Trojans who answered with nine runs at the bottom of the third. The game ended in five innings with the Lady Bears losing 16-2 to the Trojans.
