Shaw Adds Hunt to Women's Basketball Staff

RALEIGH, NC - Shaw University has announced the addition of Treasure Hunt to the Lady Bears basketball coaching staff, as Hunt has been named assistant women's basketball coach.

A nationally celebrated player during her high school career, Hunt brings elite basketball pedigree, championship experience, and proven leadership to the Shaw program. She was a 2020 All-Star Girls Report Top-10 prospect, a five-star guard by ESPN, and earned selections as both a McDonald's All-American and Jordan Brand Classic participant. Hunt was also one of just six girls nationwide invited to Stephen Curry's prestigious elite camp.

Hunt went on to enjoy a standout Division I playing career, beginning at the University of Kentucky, where she helped the Wildcats capture the 2021–22 SEC Championship. She later transferred to Arizona State University to complete her final two collegiate seasons and earned her degree from ASU.

Following her playing career, Hunt transitioned seamlessly into coaching, serving as an assistant coach at Tennessee State University. She now joins the Shaw University women's basketball program, bringing a wealth of experience at the highest collegiate levels.

"Treasure brings a championship mindset and an elite basketball background that will immediately elevate our program," said Shaw Interim head coach, Lou Hamilton. "Her experience competing and coaching at the highest level will be invaluable to our student-athletes, both on and off the court." Known for her basketball IQ, leadership, and ability to connect with players, Hunt will work closely with player development, recruiting, and game preparation as Shaw continues to build momentum in the CIAA.

"I'm excited and grateful for the opportunity to join the Shaw University family," said Hunt. "Shaw has a strong tradition and a bright future, and I'm eager to help our student-athletes grow, compete, and succeed at the highest level."
