RALEIGH, N.C. — Fayetteville State used a dominant interior effort and a fast start to down Shaw 75–50 on Saturday afternoon at Spaulding Gym.

The Broncos (19–4, 13–3 CIAA) opened the game on an 18–2 run and never trailed, controlling the glass and converting second-chance opportunities to keep Shaw at arm's length throughout. Fayetteville State finished with 46 rebounds, including 20 on the offensive end, and outscored the Bears 42–12 in the paint.

Nyah Wilkins powered FSU with a game-high 19 points and 10 rebounds, going 7 of 10 from the field. Amina Miles added 10 points and four offensive boards, while Kelis Carmon supplied 11 points off the bench.

Shaw (8–16, 6–11 CIAA) struggled to find rhythm early, shooting 1 of 15 in the first quarter and committing 20 turnovers overall. Mikyah Finley led the Bears with 13 points, hitting three 3-pointers, and D'Ayzha Atkinson recorded a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds. Leasia Matthews chipped in 8 points, all in the second half, as Shaw fought to close the gap late.

Despite a stronger offensive showing after halftime—Shaw hit five threes in the fourth quarter—the early deficit proved too much to overcome. FSU's depth also made a difference, with the Broncos' bench outscoring the Bears 30–15.
