RALEIGH, N.C. – The Shaw University women's tennis team is set to open play in the 2025 NCAA Division II Women's Tennis Championship with a first-round matchup against Slippery Rock University on Monday, May 12 in Indiana, PA. Doubles play is scheduled for 2 p.m. followed by singles action. 

The Lady Bears (16-6), winners of their seventh consecutive CIAA Championship, earned the No. 6 seed in the Atlantic Region. Shaw will look to extend its postseason run against a Slippery Rock squad (13-9) that enters as the No. 3 seed and runner-up in the PSAC.

Shaw is anchored by a strong singles lineup, including All-CIAA selections Marija Ristanovic, Anja Antonijevic and CIAA Tournament MVP Serena Teluwo.  The Lady Bears enter the match winners if six straight matches.
