RALEIGH, NC -  The Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) proudly announces that Diego Coca-Hernandez of Shaw University has been named the CIAA Special Teams Player of the Week for his outstanding performance during the Bears season opening win over Elizabeth City State this past Saturday.

Coca-Hernandez had an impressive debut for the Bears finishing Saturday's win with 6 punts totaling 239 yards. The freshman from Woodbridge, VA. averaged just under 40 yards per punt (39.8) with two going over 50 yards including a game-long 55 yards.

The Bears are back in action September 7th as they travel to Albany, GA to face the Albany State University Rams. Kickoff is slated for 6 PM inside the Albany State Colisieum.
