RALEIGH, N.C. — Shaw University has announced its 2026 football schedule, highlighted by a challenging slate of CIAA matchups, three consecutive home games early in the season, and a Homecoming finale at Durham County Memorial Stadium.
The Bears will open the 2026 campaign on the road with a conference test at Fayetteville State on August 29, setting the tone early in a competitive CIAA schedule. Shaw remains on the road the following week, traveling to Barton College on September 5, before returning home for a three-game homestand.
Shaw's home opener is set for September 12 against Ferrum College at Durham County Memorial Stadium. The Bears will remain at home on September 19 for a CIAA matchup against Lincoln (Pa.) before closing the month on September 26 against Livingstone College.
October brings the heart of conference play, beginning with a road trip to Bowie State on October 3. Shaw will continue its CIAA road swing on October 10 at Johnson C. Smith University in Charlotte. The Bears return home on October 17 to host Virginia State in a key midseason conference showdown.
Shaw closes its road schedule on October 24 at Virginia Union before wrapping up the regular season at home on October 31 against Bluefield State. The matchup will also serve as Shaw's 2026 Homecoming, providing a festive backdrop to the season finale.
All home games will be played at Durham County Memorial Stadium. Kickoff times and broadcast information will be announced at a later date.
