ORANGEBURG, S.C. --The Shaw volleyball team walked away with a 3-0 sweep (25-16, 25-18, 25-14) over the Claflin Panthers Tuesday on the road at Edward L Tullis Are.
The conference victory improved Shaw's record to 9-2 overall and 4-0 in CIAA action.
Talia Emmen finished with 11 kills on the day to lead the Lady Bears attack while finishing with a hitting percentage of .333. got 11 digs from Kalia Morris to lead them defensively.

How It Happened
SET 1 | The Lady Bears grabbed control of the set-one lead at 2-1 and never trailed to win 25-16. Shaw led by as many as nine points at 21-12 before finishing off the set. Shaw also supplemented their offense with five aces in the opening set.
SET 2 | After their win in the first set, Shaw put themselves on the cusp of a sweep with a 25-18 victory in set number two. The Lady Bears led from the first point on in the set to secure the victory. Shaw opened up as much as a seven point lead at 20-13 before finishing off the set, totaling 19 kills along the way. The Lady Bears hit .417 over the course of a set where they racked up 19 kills.
SET 3 | Shaw closed the match in a 3-0 sweep after grabbing the third set. The Lady Bears took the set 25-14 propelled by a solid performance on the attacking side. Shaw registered a .400 attack percentage with 14 kills in the set win. The Lady Bears ended on a strong note, stretching their lead to its largest point in the set to finish out the stanza. The Shaw offense also got a boost from five aces in the stanza.
