RESULTS

PEMBROKE, N.C. (April 8) - The Shaw University women's track & field team braved through the rain for a strong performance in the 2023 Braves Classic Saturday at UNC Pembroke's Dick & Lenore Taylor Track. The Lady Bears won two events and finished fourth out of 10 teams.

Reid Cobb-Phillips and the 4x100 relay team paced the Lady Bears, who scored in several events. Cobb-Phillips was victorious in the javelin throw with a personal best toss of 95-0. The team of Anijah Triggs, Symone Wright, Micah Wright and Brijette Basden ran a winning time of 49.66 in the 4x100 relay.

India Pulphus and Micah Wright were third and fourth, respectively, while Vanaia Diggs was eighth in the 200 dash. Daina Morrison was fourth in the javelin.

Iysis Martinez and Cobb-Phillips finished sixth and seventh, respectively, in the 100 dash. Imani Corbett placed sixth and Aydia Cobb was ninth in the 400 dash.

The Lady Bears are back in action next weekend (April 14-15) at the Trojan Relays in Mount Olive N.C.
