WILMINGTON, N.C. (March 4) – Ashanti Wright and Symone Wright led the Shaw women's track & field team to an impressive performance at the UNCW Seahawk Outdoor Invitational, which started Friday and concluded Saturday.

Ashanti Wright won the discus with a toss of 132-4 and Symone Wright captured the 400 hurdles in a time of 1:05.33. Overall, the Lady Bears collected 12 top-10 finishes in the meet, which was held at the Harold Greene Track & Field Complex.

Symone Wright also placed third in the 100 hurdles and Ashanti Wright was fifth in the shot put. Gabrielle Henry finished second in the discus and fourth in the shot put.
