RALEIGH, N.C. – The Shaw University women's basketball team will face Claflin on Tuesday, Feb. 21, at 10 a.m. in the opening round of the CIAA Tournament at the CFG Bank Arena in Baltimore, Md.

The Lady Bears (15-13 overall) are seeded sixth and Claflin (12-12 overall) is seeded 11^th. The winner plays No. 3 seed Winston-Salem State in a 12 p.m. women's quarterfinal matchup on Thursday. WSSU received a first-round bye.

During the regular season, the Lady Bears fell to Claflin 80-76 in Orangeburg, S.C., on Dec. 10, 2022.
