RALEIGH, NC - Thea Schillaci of Shaw University was named CIAA Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week on Wednesday by the conference's head coaches and sports information directors.

Schillaci earned the honor by placed third among Division II runners in the women's 5K cross country race at the VUU Panther Invitational on Friday, Sept. 29. She ran a time of 19:56.8. 

Schillaci and her teammates will compete in the Cedric Walker HBCU Challenge on Friday, Oct. 6, in Cary, N.C. The women's 5K race will begin at 5 p.m. at WakeMed Soccer Park.
