Raleigh, NC - Cherelle Washington led the Lady Bears with 19 points off the bench but Shaw saw a halftime lead slip away as they fell to Palm Beach Atlantic 71-69 Sunday evening in Boca Raton, FL. 

Makenzie Pollard added 15 points followed by Tanayja London with 12 points and five rebounds. The Lady Bears collectively shot 41% from the floor and an impressive 20-24 from the charity stripe. Shaw struggled from beyond the arc connecting on just 3-17 three-point shots. 

Shaw (4-7, 1-1 CIAA) held a 37-30 lead at the break before seeing their lead shrink to two at the end of three. PBA (4-7) held a two-point lead with six seconds left before a Shaw turnover with under a second remaining ended the Lady Bears chances at tying or taking the lead. 

The Lady Bears will look to collect a win on the road trip as they face Lynn University tomorrow afternoon. Tipoff is scheduled for 2 p.m.
