Box Score Lincoln, PA – Millersville University used an 18-4 run in the final quarter to pull away from the Shaw University Lady Bears 68-55 Saturday afternoon on day two of the CIAA/PSAC Challenge played on the campus of Lincoln University.
Shaw now sits at 0-2 on the season while Millersville improves to 1-1.
The Lady Bears shot 32% from the field including 4-16 from beyond the arc while limiting Millersville to just one made three-point basket the entire game. The difference would be at the free-throw line where Millersville shot 21-32 compared to just 15-22 from the charity stripe.
Shaw held a 21-17 lead after the first quarter before both teams cooled off offensively scoring just 23 points combined while the Lady Bears led 35-26 at the break. Millersville erupted for 23 points in the third quarter slicing into the Shaw lead before closing on an 18-4 run over the last eight minutes stealing the victory.
Makenzie Pollard led the Lady Bears in scoring for the second straight contest finishing with 19 points. Three Shaw players followed with seven points in Nyrobi Pillers, Inari Jones, and Taliyah Rahman. Rahman posted six rebounds leading the Lady Bears in that area.
Shaw returns to action on Wednesday, November 17 as the Lady Bears take the short trip to Wilson, NC to face the Barton Bulldogs. Tipoff is scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
