RALEIGH, N.C. – After suffering a 6-point setback to No. 10 Nova Southeastern University on Thursday, the Shaw University women's hoops team is set to gear up for the Lynn University women's basketball Courtyard Holiday Classic on Saturday, Dec. 19th vs. Lynn, followed by a contest versus Saint Leo University on Sunday, Dec. 20th.

The Lady Bears (7-3) had four players chart double digits in scoring, including Eboni Ross (Columbia, SC) who tallied 23 points and nine rebounds. Aaliyah Mercer (Bronx, NY) added 13, while Michelle Wright (Baltimore, MD) and Kaula Jacks (Chesapeake Beach, MD) both chipped in 11 points each. Shaw enters Saturday's contest averaging 78.8 points per game, 23.1 percent from the 3-point line and 67.2 percent from the foul line.
Lynn (2-6) enters the contest after a week off from competition. In their last outing the Fighting Knights defeated Southeastern (Fla.), 61-54 on Dec. 10th. Tiffani Kerrison leads the attack offensively with an average of 13.8 points, while Charla Nelson-James adds 11.1 per contest. Nelson-James also averages a team-best in rebounds with an average of 7.6 rebounds per outing.
As for Saint Leo, the Lions (3-6) enter the classic looking to get back to the winning column after a loss to Findlay on Thursday. The Lions are led Chelsey Springs with 18.3 point per game, while Chachi Guzman and Izabell Skoogh add 17.3 and 11.6 points, respectively.
