RALEIGH, N.C. – After a 1-0 start in conference play, the Shaw University women's basketball team will resume play at No. 10 Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale on Thursday afternoon.
The teams will tip-off at 2 p.m. in the NSU Arena with live stats and video available on shawbears.com.
The Lady Bears (7-2, 1-0 CIAA) look to continue their winning momentum going into the contest after handling Elizabeth City State, 64-46 for their CIAA opener. Eboni Ross (Columbia, SC) paces the Lady Bears, averaging a double-double with 14.4 points and 12.- rebounds per outing. She currently ranks tenth in the nation, while averaging a field goal percentage of 63.9 percent – good for fifth in national rankings.
The Sharks enter today's contest with an 8-1 overall record. They post a 4-0 record in the Sunshine State Conference, led by head coach LeAnn Freeland. Offensively, NSU is led by Taylor Buie, who averages 14.2 points per game. Monaye Merritt leads the Sharks on the boards with an average of 6.2 rebounds per contest.
The Sharks lead the all-time series between the two teams with a 7-3 record overall.
