RALEIGH, N.C. – The Shaw University women's basketball team will look to continue their winning ways when they travel to Augusta, Ga., for a non-conference showdown against Paine College on Wednesday, Nov. 18th at the Heal Complex. Tipoff is slate for 7 p.m.
The contest will be the first meeting between the two squads in program history.
After claiming a 62-47 victory against Concord University on Saturday in the CIAA-MEC Challenge, the Lady Bears (1-1) will look to improve on their record with a win at Paine. Kaula Jacks (Chesapeake Beach, MD) leads the effort offensively for SU, averaging 13.0 points and 3.5 assists, while Laquisha Taylor (Charlotte, NC) adds 10.0 points.
Defensively, the Lady Bears are paced by Eboni Ross (Greensboro, NC) with 13.0 rebounds per contest.
Paine (0-3) enters Wednesday matchup after coming off a 62-69 loss to Charleston Southern University on Monday. Ashley Watts led the Lady Lions with 21 points and five assists, while Janisha Wilkerson and Tannasia Rhodes added 14 and 11, respectively. Defensively, Wilkerson grabbed eight rebounds to lead the PC.
