RALEIGH, N.C.  – Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Southern Division foes clash in a matchup on Saturday as Shaw University travels to Winston-Salem, NC for a showdown with Winston-Salem State University.

Kickoff is set for 2 p.m. at Bowman Gray Stadium. Al Roseboro and Michael Rochelle will provide play-by-play analysis for WSHA 88.9 FM and the game can be seen live on Fox50 sports with Stan Lewter and Scott Pryzwansky.

This will be the 22^nd meeting between the two institutions, with WSSU leading the all-time series 12-7-2.

The Bears (0-8, 0-5 CIAA) gave Johnson C. Smith all it could handle last weekend, but fell just short in a 17-10 setback. The SU defense forced several turnovers and held the potent Golden Bulls offense to 138 total offensive yards.

Senior running back Marquise Grizzle (Camden, NC) scored the Bears lone touchdown, he finished with 56 yards off of 22 caries. Senior Roland Green (Bluffton, SC) had all-around great game, including a sack, one tackle for a loss and seven total tackles for the Bears defense.

Shaw offense has averaged 215.8 yards of total offense per game this season and hopes to snap their eight-game losing streak on the season.

Winston-Salem State (4-4, 4-1 CIAA) hopes to extend their winning-streak over the Bears to six, the Rams have defeated SU in the last five meetings. The Rams will likely use a heavy dose of the running game on Saturday as it boasted 323 rushing yards in the victory over Livingstone (23-21).

Senior running back Tyree Massey leads WSSU with 638 rushing yards and four touchdowns. Junior Xavier Quick has also rushed for two touchdowns and to go along with 203 yards.

Following Saturday's clash, Shaw returns home for the always important battle for Raleigh against archival Saint Augustine's for homecoming and senior day. The game is scheduled for a 1 p.m. kickoff.
