RALEIGH, N.C. — Verdine Warner was named the CIAA's Women's Basketball Player of the Week for her performances last week against Elizabeth City State University and Chowan University.

Warner played a pivotal role in the win against Elizabeth City State and managed to score 26 points in the setback to Chowan. For the week, she averaged 22.0 points and 17.0 rebounds in two games.

The Lady Bears return to action Thursday when they host Virginia Union University at C.C. Spaulding Gymnasium on the Shaw campus.  Tip is set for 6:00 p.m.
