Lady Bears Drop Second Day of CIAA/MEC Challenge To Fairmont State, 93-56

FAIRMONT, WEST VIRGINIA - On the second day of the CIAA/MEC Challenge in Fairmont, West Virginia, the Lady Bears lack of scoring in the second half led to their defeat of 93-56 against Fairmont State University.

Verdine Warner, led the Lady Bears scoring 17 points and accumulated eight rebounds.

Tabatha Anderson was second in scoring for the Lady Bears posting nine points, two rebounds, three assists and three steals for the Lady Bears.

Kaiya Coleman and Bryann Guyton both contributed six points and Micah Brooks pulled down five rebounds.

The Lady Falcons led the game 53-26 going in the second half, but the Lady Bears could not manage to catch up and take the lead.

In the second half Fairmont State outscored Shaw 40-30.

With the loss, Shaw drops to 1-1 on the season.

The Lady Bears host the first home game of the season, taking on the Lady Vikings of Elizabeth City State University Tuesday,  November 18th at 6pm in CC Spaulding Gymnasium.
