GAME 1 | Shaw 3, Chestnut Hill 1
RALEIGH, NC --Syhia Marks had everything working on Friday, striking out 10 Chestnut Hill hitters over seven innings of work to help power the Shaw Bears past the Griffins 3-1.
In addition to her 10 strikeouts, Marks (1-3) threw seven innings, giving up one run on two hits and walking three for Shaw (1-7).
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Lady Bears were trailing 1-0 in the second inning when they first put runs on the board. Dakota Espinoza came across to score the lone run of the inning for Shaw and get them on the board.
The score stayed at 1-1 until the very next inning, when the Bears put runs on the scoreboard once again. Shaw scored once on an RBI single off the bat of Espinoza, which brought the Lady Bears lead to 2-1.
Shaw kept Chestnut Hill without a run before expanding their lead to 3-1 the following inning. The score remained 3-1 for the rest of the game, as Shaw held on for the win.

RALEIGH, NC --The Shaw Bears had a tough showing in Game 2, falling to the Chestnut Hill Griffins by final score of 9-1.
At the plate, the Lady Bears were led by J. Booker, who went 1-for-3 on the day with an RBI.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Lady Bears got the scoring started early, putting one run on the board in the bottom the first inning with the game still scoreless. Shaw got an RBI single from Booker, scoring H. Stanley from second base. The Lady Bears were unable to hold the lead, as Chestnut Hill scored nine times over the remaining five innings to grab the 9-1 win.
