GAME 1 | Lees-McRae 9, Shaw 3
RALEIGH, NC --Cyndia Dobbins went 2 for 4 with a double and two RBIs for the Shaw Bears in a 9-3 loss to the Lees-McRae Bobcats on Saturday.
Syhia Marks (0-2) got the ball to start for Shaw (0-3) and took the loss.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Lady Bears were trailing 1-0 in the first inning when they first put runs on the board. Shaw got an RBI single from Emma Craig, scoring Elyssa Lapena from third base.
The Bobcats then scored two runs to retake their advantage heading into the third inning, when the Lady Bears responded by getting back on the scoreboard themselves. Shaw pushed across a run on Dobbins' two-out RBI double, which tightened the Bobcats lead to 3-2.
Lees-McRae expanded their lead to 5-2 before the Shaw offense got going, reducing that lead to 5-3 in the fifth. The Lady Bears scored once on an RBI single off the bat of . The Lady Bears were unable to get any closer, as Lees-McRae added four runs to their tally on the way to a 9-3 final.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Bears were trailing 6-0 in the second inning when they first put runs on the board. McGee came across to score the lone run of the inning for Shaw and get them on the board. The Lady Bears were unable to get any closer, as Lees-McRae added six runs to their tally on the way to a 12-1 final.
