Shaw Drops Livingstone 87-75

RALEIGH, NC --The Shaw men's basketball team kept Livingstone to just 18.8 percent from 3-point range in a 3-for-16 shooting performance on the way to an 87-75 victory over the Blue Bears at home Thursday.

The Bears (13-5, 5-5) had four players score in double figures, led by Dreveon Scott, who had 21 points and two steals. Isaiah Buckley tacked on 17 points and seven assists and Avion Pinner chipped in as well with 15 points from the bench.

The Shaw offense was very productive from beyond the arc, pouring in nine threes on 25 attempts. Justin Harris was the most prolific shooter for the Bears, draining three treys in the contest.

The Shaw defense caused its share of mistakes in Thursday's game, forcing 17 Livingstone turnovers. Those takeaways turned into 20 points on the other end of the floor. Harris led the way individually for the Bears with two steals.

Shaw kept its lead intact before going on a 7-0 run, finished off by Scott's three, to grow the lead to 56-42 with 15:59 to go in the contest.
