ETTRICK, VA - The
Shaw University women's tennis team continued its reign atop the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA), securing its seventh consecutive conference title with a dominant performance at the 2025 CIAA Women's Tennis Championship.
The Lady Bears defeated top competition throughout the tournament, culminating in a 4-0 sweep in the championship match over Johnson C. Smith to solidify their legacy as one of the CIAA's premier programs. Shaw's consistency, depth, and determination were on full display as the team captured its 14th overall CIAA crown in program history.
Shaw earned the doubles point picking up wins in the #2 and #3 spots. The Lady Bears closed the deal earning wins in #3, #5 and #6 while holding leads in all of the other singles matchups.
Sophomore Serea Teluwo earned the title as tournament MVP winning all of her matches without dropping a set.
The Lady Bears will now await their NCAA Tournament fate after the tournament selection show later this weekend.
