DURHAM, NC --Five different players scored touchdowns, led by two scores from Maceo Wingate, as Shaw easily defeated Lincoln (PA) 48-14 on Saturday afternoon at Durham County Memorial Stadium.
The Bears improved to 3-1 on the year and 1-0 in Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association play, while the Lions fell to 0-3 and 0-2.
Christian Peters led Shaw's passing attack with 220 yards through the air, tossing four touchdowns without throwing an interception.
Travon Tensley totaled 106 yards to lead the Bears' ground attack in the game, picking up 5.9 yards per carry along the way. Traquan Johnson also tacked on 61 yards and one touchdown on the ground, picking up 6.1 yards per carry.
Ah'shaan Belcher reeled in four catches for 90 yards and two scores.
Raegzon Mackey showed out for the Shaw defense, totaling five tackles, 0.5 TFL, and one interception. James Boyd added three tackles, 2.0 TFL, one sack, and one recovered fumble and Noah Gibson had one interception in the win.
The Bears won the turnover battle in Saturday's game, forcing four turnovers while coughing the ball up one time, with Shaw turning those takeaways into 20 points. Shaw recorded a stellar showing on the ground, racking up 245 rushing yards while averaging 5.1 yards per carry and out-rushing Lincoln (PA) by 55 yards. Shaw converted on 42.9 percent of third-down attempts on the day. The Bears also went 4-for-5 on fourth down.
Shaw's defense held up against Lincoln (PA)'s offense, giving up 274 total yards. The Bears defense disrupted the Lincoln (PA) passing game on the way to grabbing three interceptions and breaking up three Lions passes.
Shaw's offense made the most of its trips to the red zone, scoring on four of its five trips, with all of those scores being touchdowns.

Shaw scored first with 8:57 left in the first quarter to take a 7-0 lead.The Bears then expanded the lead to 14-0 with another score.
Shaw continued to expand its advantage, scoring again with 9:44 remaining in the second quarter to go on top 21-0.The Bears kept building their advantage after Lincoln (PA) closed the gap to 21-7, scoring again to go ahead 28-7.
Shaw continued to increase its lead, scoring again with :00 remaining in the second quarter to go up 35-7.The Lions then rallied, tallying seven points before the Bears responded with a touchdown to extend their lead to 42-14.
Shaw didn't score again and Lincoln (PA) added zero more points to finish off the scoring.
