FROSTBURG, MD -- The Shaw volleyball team walked away with a 3-0 win (25-21, 25-14, 25-20) against the Frostburg State Bobcats Thursday on the road in the Frostburg State Tournament at Bobcat Arena.
The out-of-conference victory boosted the Lady Bears' overall record to 1-0 on the season.
Lillian Carlson finished with 13 kills on the day to lead the Lady Bears' attack. Shaw got 22 digs from Jasmine Culp to lead it defensively.

How It Happened
SET 1 | The Lady Bears took control of the lead at 4-3 and held it the rest of the way to win 25-21. Shaw led by as many as six points at 18-12 before closing out the set.
SET 2 | Shaw took set two 25-14 to promptly jump to a 2-0 lead. The Lady Bears scored first and never trailed in the set to earn the victory. Shaw opened up a 12-point lead at 19-7 before finishing off the set. The Shaw offense also got a boost from three aces in the stanza. Shaw's front row had a solid defensive performance, blocking four Frostburg State attacks in the stanza.
SET 3 | Shaw finished off the match in a 3-0 sweep after winning set three. The Lady Bears won the third set 25-20. Shaw took the lead for good at 12-11 in a set that showcased two lead changes before the Lady Bears took over the lead.

The Lady Bears will face Pitt-Johnston on the second day of the Frostburg State Tournament at Bobcat Arena on Friday. The match starts at 2 p.m.
