RALEIGH, N.C. (April 24) - The Shaw women's tennis team will open play in the NCAA Division II women's tennis tournament against Indiana (Pa.) on Monday, May 1, in Indiana, Pa., at 10 a.m. The NCAA D2 women's tennis field was announced Monday night.

The Lady Bears (14-4 overall) won their fifth straight CIAA title the past Saturday to gain the conference's automatic berth in the tournament. They will play in Atlantic Region No. 2 as the 7th seed. Indiana (Pa.), the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) champion and regional host, is the No. 2 seed with a 12-9 overall mark. 

The winner of the morning match will play the victor between No. 3 Slippery Rock and No. 6 Fairmont State on Saturday at noon.

This marks the first time since 2013 that both Shaw's men's and women's teams are in their respective NCAA Division II tennis tournaments the same year.
