RALEIGH, NC - The Central Intercollegiate Athletics Association (CIAA) announced its weekly tennis honors on Tuesday afternoon. In the announcement, Shaw's Jessa Michielli was named the Food Lion CIAA Women's Tennis Player of the Week. 

Michielli helped lead Shaw to an unbeaten 4-0 mark in the CIAA Roundup this past weekend in Charlotte, NC. The sophomore from Duncan, Canada went 3-0 in singles matches and 3-0 in doubles play while only dropping one set over the course of the entire roundup. Michielli won matchups against Elizabeth City State, Virginia State, and Virginia Union with all the victories coming at No. 4 singles and No. 3 doubles. Against Bowie State, she won the No. 3 doubles by default.
