DURHAM, NC - Aided by four second-half goals, the Shaw men's soccer team enjoyed Senior Day with a 5-0 victory over Salem (WV) at Durham County Stadium on Sunday.
Five different players scored for the Bears, who ended the regular season 9-8-1 overall. The nine wins are a season high and the winning record is a first for the Shaw men's soccer program, which started in 2017.
Jaedyn Saunders started the scoring with a goal on an assist fromÂ
Ismael Khiyati for a 1-0 halftime lead. The Bears poured it on in the second half to pull away from the Tigers, 2-12-3 overall.
Khiyati recorded his second assist, this time by
Boisey Armwood's goal, for a 2-0 lead in the second half. The Bears finished off the Tigers by scoring three goals in a four-minute span.Â

Pablo Bas Colomer recorded two saves on two shots on goal for the Bears, who outshot Salem 13-10. The Bears had more corner kicks (4-2) and Salem tallied more fouls (11-9).Â
