RALEIGH, NC -- The Shaw volleyball team racked up 10 blocks en route to a 3-0 win (25-16, 25-17, 25-9) over the Claflin Panthers Friday on Senior Night inside C.C. Spaulding Gymnasium.
The conference win improved Shaw's record to 26-5 overall and 17-0 in the CIAA with one league match left in the regular season. The 26 wins are the most in four seasons under Head Coach Jonathan Paulk.
Before the match, setter Lauren Janok and outside hitter Noelani Beard were honored on Senior Night in the final home match of the regular season.
The Lady Bears, who already have clinched the Southern Division, were led by seven kills from Kamille Patrick, who had a hitting percentage of .364. Shaw got 10 digs from Beard to lead the team defensively.

SET 1 | The Lady Bears took control at 4-3 and held the lead the rest of the way to win 25-16. Shaw opened up its biggest lead, nine points, to close out the set. Shaw had three aces in the opening set. The Lady Bears got a solid defensive performance from a front row that blocked four Claflin attacks in the stanza.
SET 2 | Shaw built on the set-one win by securing a 25-17 victory in set number two. The Lady Bears took control early at 4-3 and never looked back. Shaw led by nine points at 20-11 before closing out the set. The Shaw offense got a boost from five aces in the stanza.
SET 3 | Shaw took the third set to finish off the match. The Lady Bears led from the first point to earn a 25-9 victory. Shaw ended on a high note, claiming its biggest lead, 16 points, to finish off the set. The Shaw offense got a boost from four aces in the stanza. Shaw's front row had a solid defensive performance, blocking five Claflin attacks in the stanza.
