Bowie, MD - The Shaw University women's tennis team saw their winning streak grow to four matches as the Lady Bears made easy work of their three matches at the CIAA Round-Up event held in Bowie, MD at Bowie State University on Friday and Saturday.

Shaw first faced Virginia Union University Friday and came away with a 4-0 victory without allowing the Panthers to win an entire game during the match.  The Lady Bears collected 8-0 victories in all three doubles matchups while also collecting sweeping victories in the first, second, and fifth single matches before the match was won. 

On Saturday, the Lad Bears matched up against Elizabeth City State also coming away with a 4-0 win. Shaw collected a 6-3 doubles victory from Dana Moreno and Michelle Blaha. The number two doubles tandem of Auja Autonijevia and Sevval Ozseker blitzed their way to a 6-1 win. Blaha cruised to an 8-0 victory at the number two singles spot to ice the victory after the third doubles matchup was won by default by the Lady Bears. 

The final match of the day came against the host Bowie State Bulldogs where Shaw completed play with a 4-1 victory. The Lady Bears took all three double matchups with the team of Thandi Kololo and Kundai Manyonga taking a 6-1 win in the third slot putting the Bears ahead 3-0. Shaw would drop their only match of the weekend as Bowie State collected a win at the first singles spot 8-5 before Blaha closed the deal winning her singles match 8-5. 

The Lady Bears have a quick break before returning to action as they travel to face Winston-Salem State University on March, 22 at 2 p.m.
