LADY BEARS CRUISE TO 7-0 WIN OVER FAYETTEVILLE STATE, CLAIMS SOUTHERN DIVISION TITLE

FAYETTEVILLE, NC – The Shaw University women's tennis team picked up a 7-0 win over Fayetteville State University on Monday afternoon to conclude the regular season as the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Southern Division Champions for the 17th consecutive year.

 

The Lady Bears (16-2, 12-1 CIAA) won all six singles matches in straight sets with the scores of 6-0, 6-0.

 

In doubles Ana Ruzir (Zagreb, Croatia) and Jovanovic won 8-0 at the No. 1 spot, while Marilyne Kamegne (Yaounde, Cameroon) and Andrijana Martic (Belgrade, Serbia) claimed an 8-0 victory at the No. 2 doubles.

 

Shaw will look to compete in the CIAA Championship in Raleigh, NC on April 28-30.
