RALEIGH, NC – The Shaw University women's tennis team earned a dominant 7-0 win over Livingstone College (1-4, 0-3 CIAA) Tuesday afternoon at Lions Park.
 
The Lady Bears won every match to improve their season record to 6-1 overall and 5-0 in the CIAA.
 
Shaw claimed victories in two doubles matches as Ana Ruzir (Zagreb, Croatia) and Teodora Jovanovic (Nis, Serbia) began with an 8-1 win at the first flight before Marilyne Kamegne (Yaounde, Cameroon) and Anadrijana Martic (Belgrade) locked up the second flight with an 8-0 victory.
 
Simbiat Aleem (Lagos, Nigeria) opened singles play by cruising to a 6-0, 6-0 win over LC's Mariah Williams at the No. 5 singles. Ruzir followed with a 6-0, 6-0 win at the top flight of singles before Jovanovic swept the match with a 6-0, 6-0 win over Aaliyah Tucker at the No. 2 singles.
 
Kamegne continued Shaw's dominance after claiming the third spot in the lineup (6-0, 6-0) against Tiffani Holland, while Martic handed a 6-0, 6-0 win over Cearira Gillis, respectively.
 
Shaw will return to action on Wednesday, March 9 to host Bluefield College for a non-conference matchup. First serve is slated for 1 p.m. at Lions Park.
